Dr. Martin, Jr., is currently professor of obstetrics and gynecology and director of the division of maternal-fetal medicine at the L. Winfred Wiser Hospital for Women and Infants, University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. His clinical experience is the management of complicated pregnancies, particularly those associated with hypertensive disorders.In addition to his physician, Dr. Breeden is a Certified Financial Planner and holds a Masters in Financial Planning. He served as treasurer of the ACOG and the Eighth District (Western U.S., Alaska, Hawaii, western Canada, and Central America) and was a member of ACOG committees on finance, compensation, audit and appeal. It ‘also a former president of the District and Section VIII of Nevada and is a Fellow of ACOG for 33 years.
Dr. Macer was a member of the ACOG for 23 years. He served as president and director of the Junior Fellow District IX (California). At the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine in Los Angeles, obstetrics and gynecology medical students tutor first-and second year for Salerni Collegium, a medical student group, support and coordinate regular mixer to introduce the first and second Obstetrics Medicine and Gynecology and ACOG years.
The Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) has announced the election of James N. Martin, Jr., MD, MS, as president-elect, James T. Breeden, MD, Nev., as vice president, Mark S. De Francesco, MD, MBA, of Connecticut, as Secretary, James A. Macer, MD, of California, as Secretary, and Leah A. They will take their respective offices, May 20, 2010.
Texas, Dr. Martin moved to the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, where he held various positions including chief of obstetrics and director of the division of maternal-fetal medicine at the Hospital of the women. In 1981 he moved to the University of Mississippi in Jackson, where he continues to practice, teaching and research.
Dr. Preeclampsia Foundation presented Dr. Martin Hope Award in 2009 for lifetime achievement in the field of research pre-eclampsia. He is a member of the American Heart Association and the American Society of Gynecology and Obstetrics. He is a former president of the American Society for the Study of hypertension in pregnancy and the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine.
Dr. He was president of the Connecticut Section of The District (New England, eastern Canada and Chile). He is a former president of ACOG committees of management practices and the practice of outpatient operations and is active on numerous task forces and working groups ACOG. He was also president of the District Council of Presidents.
Dr. James T. Breeden is chairman of the Medical Group Carson, 26 physician multi-specialty group in Carson City, where he practiced obstetrics and gynecology for 34 years and specializes in the care of women and gynecological surgery office in the past six years. He has held various positions with the Carson Tahoe Hospital, where he was chief of staff, 10-year member of the Board and Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. It is also a founding member, officer and director of the Ambulatory Surgery Center Carson and Sierra Surgery Hospital. Breeden received his medical degree at the School of Medicine, Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI. He completed his residency training at Mercy Hospital and Medical Center in San Diego, California, and then serving as commander, a lieutenant in the U. S. Marina. It was a personal physician in obstetrics and gynecology at the Naval Hospital in Port Hueneme, California 1974-1976 before moving to Nevada.
Dr. James A. Macer has been in private practice in Pasadena, California, for over 25 years. It is part of the clinical faculty at the Women’s Hospital, University of Southern California Medical Center in Los Angeles, and is also the staff of Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena. Macer main interests are in obstetrics and gynecology laparoscopic surgery and minimally invasive surgery. It ‘was President of the Company, Los Angeles, Obstetrics and Gynecology and Obstetrics and Gynecology of the’ Assembly of Southern California.
A graduate of Yale University, New Haven, CT, Dr. De Francis received his medical degree from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, where he is currently Associate Professor at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He completed his residency training at the University of Connecticut Health Center and later received his Masters in Business Administration from the University of New Haven in West Haven, CT.
Dr. Mark S. De Francis has practiced obstetrics and gynecology in Waterbury, Connecticut, for over 25 years. It ‘a founder and current vice president and medical director of Physicians for Women’s Health, LLC, a group practice with 170 throughout the state of the nation, gynecologist, physician to the largest group without walls dedicated to women’s health .
